Pet Friendly Accomodations on the Gulf Coast
The Landing's beloved pet, Justin, inspired the property's pet-friendly policy back in 1990 and while he is no longer with us, our new mascot, Riley, welcomes your visit!
Pets always stay FREE at Steinhatchee Landing!
The resort has 35 acres of landscaped and wooded grounds for you and your dog to enjoy. Half the trees are oaks, loaded with acorns and more squirrels than your pup has ever seen.
31 rental cottages, featuring one-to four-bedrooms, are privately owned. 14 of the cottages are available for pets. Dogs are not allowed in the pool. However, water lovers can enjoy endless swimming in the Steinhatchee River.
Because we have a petting zoo with goats and ducks, we generally do not allow dogs weighing more than 28 pounds. We are required to gain the homeowner's personal approval before we can confirm reservations for larger dogs. We will happily ask the owner if you are certain your pooch can be controlled around farm animals and smaller dogs.
There is no charge for your pet. However, a cottage inspection will be performed prior to checkout.
Traveling with your dog is rewarding, but it also means added responsibility on the "parents." Pets should be well disciplined, socialized and understand and respond to basic commands such as stay, stop, come, and let's go. A leash is essential when arriving at a new destination.
We ask you to keep your pets off the furniture. Always carry a lint brush or dust remover with you. If Fido sleeps with you bring a bed cover to put on top of the bedding. Always feed your pet in the kitchen or bathroom, never on the carpet. Place a newspaper or towel under the food dish.
Always be considerate of other guests.
Carry plastic bags and paper towels for clean up duty. If your pup causes damage to someone's property, offer to pay for its repair or replacement. Following these basic guidelines assures you, your pet and the resort's other guests a relaxing and enjoyable vacation experience.
